The SPI 21-063-3 is a carbide ball contact point designed for use with Interapid test indicators. It features a 0.015 inch ball diameter and a contact point length of 1.75 inches, delivering precise stylus contact in tight-tolerance inspection and measurement applications. The carbide tip provides durability against wear during repeated gauging cycles. This contact point is a direct-fit accessory used by machinists, toolroom technicians, and quality control inspectors to extend or replace the stylus on compatible test indicators.
This contact point suits precision measurement tasks on the shop floor, in the toolroom, or at an inspection station. It is appropriate for checking runout, surface alignment, bore concentricity, and similar geometric tolerances on machined parts. The 1.75 inch length allows access to recessed surfaces that shorter contact points cannot reach. Installers and metrology technicians select this style when the standard contact point does not provide adequate reach or ball geometry for the application.
Designed for use with Interapid test indicators as stated by the manufacturer.
Contact point replacement on test indicators is performed by metrology technicians or toolroom personnel. Power down or remove any automated measurement system before servicing the stylus assembly. Use the appropriate wrench or driver as specified by the indicator manufacturer to avoid damaging the threaded contact point stem. Do not overtighten, as excessive force can affect indicator accuracy or damage the stem thread.
