The SPI 21-060-9 is a carbide ball contact point designed for use with precision test indicators. It features a 0.078 inch ball diameter and a contact point length of 0.812 inches, making it suited for tight-clearance measurement tasks where a standard stylus cannot reach. The carbide tip provides wear resistance for repeated use in production and inspection environments. This contact point is installed by machinists, metrology technicians, and quality control professionals working with dial-type test indicators.
This contact point is used in dimensional inspection, surface runout checks, bore alignment, and machine setup applications. It is compatible with Interapid test indicators and is commonly found in tool rooms, machine shops, and quality inspection departments where precise measurement of small features or recessed surfaces is required. The small ball diameter allows contact in areas inaccessible to larger styli.
Designed for use with Interapid test indicators as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by the metrology technician or machinist servicing the indicator. Power down or secure any machine being measured before attaching or adjusting the contact point. Use the correct wrench size for the indicator stem thread to avoid stripping. Do not overtighten the contact point, as this can damage the indicator spindle threads.
