The SPI 21-047-6 is a steel ball contact point designed for use with dial test indicators. It threads into the indicator spindle and provides the physical tip that contacts the workpiece surface during measurement. The ball tip measures 0.031 inches in diameter, and the overall contact point length is 0.688 inches. Fabricated from steel for durability in shop and inspection environments, this contact point is a direct replacement or spare component installed by machinists, tool and die makers, and metrology technicians performing precision measurement tasks.
This contact point is suited for use in machine shops, quality control labs, and inspection stations where dial test indicators are used to measure runout, surface variation, and part alignment. Its small ball diameter allows contact on tight radii and contoured surfaces where a flat or chisel-style tip would not seat accurately. It is compatible with Interapid test indicators as specified by the manufacturer.
Designed for use with Interapid test indicators as stated by the manufacturer.
Contact points are installed and removed by threading into or out of the indicator spindle — power down or remove any associated equipment before handling precision measuring instruments to avoid accidental drops or damage. Use the appropriate wrench or contact point tool to avoid marring the tip or spindle threads. Handle the ball tip carefully to prevent nicks that could affect measurement accuracy.
