The SPI 20-302-6 is a carbide ball contact point designed for use with test indicators in precision measurement applications. The contact point features a 0.078 inch ball diameter and a total contact point length of 0.606 inches, with a tip diameter of 0.080 inches. Carbide construction provides excellent wear resistance and dimensional stability during repeated contact cycles, making it a reliable choice for technicians and machinists who require consistent gauge performance in production or inspection environments.
This contact point is used in dimensional inspection, surface runout checks, bore alignment, and other precision measurement tasks where a test indicator must register small deviations. It is compatible with Mitutoyo test indicators and is suited for use on machine tools, surface plates, and inspection fixtures in both shop floor and laboratory settings. The small ball diameter allows measurement in tight bores and confined features where larger contact points cannot reach.
Designed for use with Mitutoyo test indicators as specified by the manufacturer.
Contact points are installed by a machinist or metrology technician and typically require only hand tools or a small wrench for thread engagement. Ensure the indicator spindle is clean and free of debris before threading on the contact point. Do not overtighten, as excess torque can damage the indicator spindle threads. Always zero or re-calibrate the indicator after changing contact points.
