The SPI 19-647-7 is a Class ZZ minus plug pin gage machined to a nominal diameter of 0.647 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches in the minus direction. Pin gages in this class are used to verify hole diameters, slot widths, and bore dimensions during inspection and quality control operations. The 19-647-7 is constructed from steel for durability and dimensional stability under repeated use. Class ZZ represents the most common tolerance grade for general-purpose inspection in production and shop-floor environments. Machinists, toolmakers, quality technicians, and manufacturing engineers rely on this type of gage to confirm whether a workpiece feature meets print specification before the part moves to the next operation.
This pin gage is suited for use in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and manufacturing environments where go/no-go dimensional verification is required. It is appropriate for checking drilled, reamed, or bored holes in metal, plastic, and composite workpieces. The minus designation means the gage is manufactured below nominal, making it appropriate for go-gage applications where the gage must pass through an acceptable hole. It is sold individually and works with standard pin gage handles or gage blocks depending on application.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or addition to standard pin gage sets accepting 0.647 inch diameter members. Compatible with common pin gage handles sized for this diameter range.
Pin gages are handled and used by machinists, toolmakers, and quality inspection personnel. Keep the gage clean and lightly oiled when not in use to prevent corrosion and maintain dimensional accuracy. Do not force the gage into a hole that resists entry, as this can damage the gage or the workpiece. Store individually or in a designated gage block to avoid contact with other tools that could cause nicks or surface damage.
