The SPI 19-625-3 is a Class ZZ minus plug pin gage with a 0.625-inch nominal diameter, manufactured from steel. It is used to verify bore and hole dimensions during inspection and quality control operations. The minus designation means the gage is made to the low side of the nominal dimension, following standard GO gage practice. Tolerance is held to 0.0002 inches, meeting Class ZZ specifications for general-purpose inspection. Machinists, toolmakers, quality technicians, and metrologists use this gage in production and inspection environments where consistent, repeatable dimensional verification is required.
This plug gage is suited for checking drilled, reamed, or bored holes in metal, plastic, or composite workpieces across light manufacturing, machine shops, and precision fabrication facilities. It is appropriate for both incoming inspection and in-process quality checks where a 0.625-inch nominal bore dimension must be confirmed. The Class ZZ tolerance class is recognized for general-purpose commercial inspection work and is commonly specified in shop-floor gaging programs.
Designed for use as a general-purpose Class ZZ plug gage for verifying 0.625-inch nominal diameter bores and holes in standard shop and inspection applications.
Plug pin gages are handled and used by quality technicians, machinists, and metrologists and do not require mechanical installation. Store the gage in a protective case when not in use to prevent damage to the gaging surface. Clean the gage and the bore being checked before use to prevent debris from affecting the measurement reading. Follow ASME B89.1.5 or applicable shop standards for gage handling, calibration intervals, and storage.
