The SPI 19-045-4 is a Class ZZ minus plug pin gage sized at 0.045 inches in diameter, manufactured from steel. It is used to verify hole diameters and internal dimensions to tight tolerances in precision machining and quality-control inspection work. The minus designation means the gage is made to the lower boundary of the tolerance range, following standard GO/NO-GO inspection practice. With a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, this gage is suited for applications where dimensional accuracy is critical. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and quality technicians are the primary users.
This pin gage is used in production and inspection environments where small-bore hole sizing must be confirmed against engineering specifications. It is appropriate for use on machined components, castings, and fabricated parts where a 0.045-inch nominal diameter feature requires verification. The compact size makes it well suited for benchtop inspection stations and in-process checks on the shop floor.
Designed as a standard Class ZZ minus plug pin gage suitable for use with conventional pin gage handles and gage blocks in typical precision inspection setups.
Pin gages are handled by metrology technicians and machinists trained in precision measurement. Store in a protective case away from moisture and contaminants to prevent corrosion on the steel surface. Clean the gage and the bore being measured before use to avoid false readings. Do not force the gage into a feature; apply light, consistent hand pressure only.
