The SPI 15-140-7 is a portable electronic hardness tester designed for field and shop use across six hardness scales: Brinell, Leeb, Rockwell B, Rockwell C, Shore, and Vickers. It measures hardness from as low as 10 HLD and 20 HB up to 900 HLD and 950 HV, covering a wide range of metals and alloys. Accuracy is rated at 0.5% on the Leeb scale and 1 point on the Rockwell C scale. Battery-powered with AA cells, the unit delivers lab-grade hardness verification without the need for a fixed testing bench. Licensed metrology technicians, quality control inspectors, and tool-room personnel are the primary users.

This tester is suited for incoming material inspection, in-process quality checks, and verification of heat-treated components in industrial, manufacturing, and maintenance environments. Its portability makes it practical for testing large workpieces or installed components that cannot be brought to a stationary hardness tester.
