The SPI 14-683-7 is a flexible steel rule designed for precise linear measurement in shop, fabrication, and field applications. Measuring 12 inches in overall length and 0.5 inches in width, this rule features both decimal and metric graduations, giving technicians and tradespeople the flexibility to work in either measurement system without switching tools. The satin chrome-plated finish reduces glare under direct lighting and protects the steel substrate from corrosion. At 0.0200 inches thick, the blade flexes enough to measure curved or contoured surfaces where a rigid rule would lose contact with the workpiece.
This rule is suited for HVAC fabrication shops, plumbing rough-in work, electrical panel layout, and general mechanical measurement tasks. The horizontal scale orientation and 1/2-inch and 1/50-inch graduation increments make it practical for fine layout work on sheet metal, pipe, conduit, and structural components. It is a single-piece tool requiring no assembly and is packaged individually for jobsite or toolbox carry.
Designed as a general-purpose flexible steel rule suitable for use across trade disciplines including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical fabrication wherever a 12-inch graduated blade is required.
No installation is required for this measuring tool. Store the rule flat or in a protective sleeve to prevent permanent deformation of the flexible blade. Do not use the rule as a cutting guide with a utility knife, as repeated scoring contact will damage the graduation markings. Clean with a dry cloth to maintain legibility of the satin chrome surface.
