The SPI 14-680-3 is a flexible steel rule with metric graduation, designed for layout and measurement tasks in metalworking, fabrication, and precision trades. It features a satin chrome-plated finish over a steel body, with horizontal scale orientation and 1/2-inch graduation spacing. At 150 millimeters in length and 0.5 inches wide, this rule is compact enough for close-tolerance work in tight spaces. The flexible construction allows the blade to conform to curved or irregular surfaces where a rigid rule would lose contact and introduce measurement error. Machinists, toolmakers, and sheet metal workers are the primary users.
This rule is suited for bench work, machine setup, and layout operations where metric measurement is required. The 150mm length makes it a natural fit for small-part inspection, scribe-line layout, and depth verification on workpieces where a longer rule would be unwieldy. The horizontal scale orientation reads left to right in standard working position. No hook is included, and the rule is non-magnetic, making it compatible with use near sensitive equipment or magnetized components.
Designed as a standard flexible steel rule for general metalworking, fabrication, and precision layout applications requiring metric graduation in a 150mm blade length.
No installation is required for this hand tool. Store the rule flat or in a dedicated slot to prevent permanent bending that would affect measurement accuracy. Avoid using the blade as a cutting guide with high-force tools, as this can introduce set into the flexible blade. Clean with a dry cloth after use to maintain the satin chrome finish.
