The SPI 13-895-8 is a rigid steel rule designed for precise linear measurement in trade and industrial applications. Measuring 12 inches in overall length and 1 inch wide, this rule features a black chrome-plated finish over steel construction that reduces glare and improves readability in workshop and field conditions. The 3R graduation style provides three scales on a single edge, offering 1/32, 1/50, and 1/64 inch increments. At 0.040 inches thick, it holds its shape without flex, making it reliable for layout work, scribe lines, and direct measurements on flat stock.
This rule is suited for machinists, pipefitters, sheet metal workers, and HVAC technicians who need a compact, accurate reference tool for layout and inspection tasks. The horizontal scale orientation makes it easy to read along a workpiece edge. The rigid format works well for scribing lines, checking cut lengths, and verifying dimensions on ductwork, conduit, piping, and mechanical components during fabrication or installation.
Designed as a general-purpose rigid steel rule suitable for use in machining, HVAC fabrication, plumbing layout, and electrical work where a compact 12-inch reference rule is required.
No installation is required for this measurement tool. Keep the rule clean and dry to preserve the black chrome-plated finish and prevent corrosion of the steel substrate. Avoid using the rule as a cutting guide with rotary or oscillating tools, as blade contact can damage graduation markings. Store flat or in a protective sleeve to maintain straightness and legibility of scales.
