The SPEARS 9817-015 is a Schedule 80 CPVC slip tee fitting designed for use in pressure piping systems handling corrosive or high-temperature fluids. This three-way fitting connects same-size pipe runs and branch lines using a solvent-cement slip socket configuration. At 1-1/2 inches, it fits standard Schedule 80 CPVC pipe and is well suited for industrial process piping, chemical distribution, and hot water systems where standard PVC lacks the temperature or chemical resistance required. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting in commercial and industrial applications.
This fitting is used in Schedule 80 CPVC pressure piping systems where service conditions exceed the ratings of standard PVC. Common applications include industrial chemical lines, plating facilities, hot and cold potable water distribution, and mechanical rooms with elevated fluid temperatures. The slip socket ends accept CPVC solvent cement for a permanent, leak-free joint. It is appropriate for both above-ground and concealed piping where the installation environment demands a higher-rated thermoplastic fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC pressure piping systems using 1-1/2 inch nominal pipe size.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM F439 standards for CPVC fittings. Depressurize and drain the piping system completely before cutting into any live line. Use a CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer — do not substitute PVC cement, as it is not rated for CPVC. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before pressurizing the system.
