The SPEARS 856-120 is a 2-piece Van Stone molded flange with a glass-filled PVC ring, designed for 12-inch pipe systems operating at up to 150 psi. The flange uses a socket connection and is manufactured from PVC in gray, making it a reliable choice for corrosion-resistant piping applications. It carries a 150 lb pressure class rating and is compatible with SCH 40, STD, SCH 80, and XH pipe schedules. The outside diameter measures 19 inches with a 17-inch bolt circle diameter. This fitting is domestically produced and is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on industrial, commercial, and municipal water or chemical distribution systems.
This flange is suited for use in above-ground and accessible underground PVC piping systems where a removable, leak-tight flange connection is required. The Van Stone two-piece design allows the ring to rotate freely before tightening, which simplifies bolt-hole alignment during installation. It is commonly found in water treatment facilities, irrigation systems, chemical processing lines, and pool or spa plumbing where non-metallic corrosion-resistant fittings are specified. The rated operating temperature is 73 degrees F at full pressure, which is standard for PVC pressure fittings in cold-water service.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 12-inch PVC piping systems rated to SCH 40, STD, SCH 80, and XH schedules in 150 lb flange service.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Depressurize and drain the line completely before cutting in or replacing any flange. Solvent-cement the socket end per ASTM D2564 procedures, allowing full cure time before pressurizing. Do not exceed the rated pressure or temperature limits marked for this fitting, as PVC pressure ratings decrease significantly above 73 degrees F.
