The SPEARS 839-209c is a flush reducing bushing designed to connect a 1-1/2 inch male NPT threaded pipe or fitting to a 1/2 inch female NPT port in a single inline transition. Manufactured from CPVC and rated to Schedule 80/XH, this bushing is suited for industrial and commercial piping systems handling corrosive fluids, hot water, or chemical process lines. The flush-style body measures 1-11/32 inches in length and weighs 0.13 pounds. It is molded for dimensional consistency and finished in gray. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this type of fitting when reducing pipe diameter within a threaded system without adding a separate coupling.
This fitting is used in Schedule 80 CPVC piping systems where a threaded size reduction is needed at a tee, valve body, tank connection, or equipment port. Typical applications include chemical distribution lines, hot and cold water supply systems in industrial facilities, and plumbing runs that require corrosion-resistant fittings beyond standard PVC temperature or chemical resistance thresholds. The domestic manufacture and SCH 80/XH rating make it appropriate for systems with elevated pressure and temperature demands.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 CPVC threaded piping systems using 1-1/2 inch to 1/2 inch NPT connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified industrial pipefitters working on CPVC threaded piping systems. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before disassembling any threaded connections. Use CPVC-compatible thread sealant or tape rated for use with plastic fittings. Do not over-torque threaded CPVC connections, as excessive force can crack the fitting body.
