The SPEARS 816-025 is a 22.5-degree standard elbow fitting designed for Schedule 80 PVC piping systems. Molded from gray PVC, this fitting uses a socket end style for solvent-cement connections and carries a pressure rating of 150 psi at 73 degrees F. With a 2-1/2 inch nominal size and SCH 80/XH wall thickness, it is built for the demanding pressure and chemical-resistance requirements found in industrial, commercial, and municipal piping installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters specify Schedule 80 PVC fittings where added wall strength and pressure capacity are required over standard Schedule 40 components.
This elbow fitting is suited for directional changes in pressure piping systems handling water, chemicals, and other PVC-compatible fluids. The 22.5-degree angle allows for gradual direction changes in tight routing situations, making it useful in mechanical rooms, process piping, irrigation headers, and water treatment applications. Domestic manufacture ensures dimensional consistency with ASTM standards commonly required in commercial and municipal specifications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for 2-1/2 inch nominal Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using socket-style solvent-cement connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with PVC solvent-cement joining procedures. Depressurize and drain the system completely before cutting into any existing line. Use a PVC-rated primer and cement appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings, and follow manufacturer cure times before returning the line to service. Refer to applicable sections of the IPC or local plumbing code for support spacing and pressure testing requirements.
