The SPEARS 54211904565 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing coupling designed to connect a 2-inch pipe to a 1-inch pipe using a socket end style on both ends. At 3.5 inches in length and 2.8125 inches in diameter, this fitting is molded from white PVC and rated for service up to 140 degrees F. It is used in pressure-rated piping systems and meets ASTM and NSF standards, making it suitable for potable water, irrigation, and general plumbing applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting in both new construction and retrofit work.
This reducing coupling fits standard SCH 40 PVC piping in residential and light commercial plumbing, irrigation distribution lines, pool and spa plumbing systems, and industrial process piping where a transition from 2-inch to 1-inch nominal pipe is required. The socket end style accepts solvent-welded connections on both ends. This is a domestically manufactured fitting produced in the United States.
Designed for use with Schedule 40 PVC pipe in 2-inch and 1-inch nominal sizes joined by solvent cement. Suitable for plumbing, irrigation, pool, spa, and industrial piping systems using standard SCH 40 PVC components.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following local plumbing codes and ASTM solvent-welding procedures. Depressurize and drain the line fully before cutting into an existing system. Use a PVC primer and solvent cement rated for SCH 40 fittings, and allow full cure time before restoring pressure. Do not apply heat or use threaded connections on the socket ends.
