The SPEARS 475-420 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing wye fitting designed for pressure piping systems in residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing applications. It features a 4 x 4 x 2 inch socket configuration, allowing a 2-inch branch takeoff from a 4-inch mainline run. The fitting is molded from white PVC and carries a pressure rating of 150 psi at 73 degrees F. With an overall length of 8-3/16 inches, it provides a reliable, leak-resistant junction point where flow needs to be divided or redirected. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in drain, waste, and vent as well as cold-water pressure piping systems.
This wye fitting is suited for pressure piping applications where a branch line must be introduced at an angle off a main 4-inch run. The reducing outlet steps down to 2 inches, making it practical in situations where a smaller branch feeds a fixture group, a secondary riser, or a service connection. The socket end style accepts solvent-weld connections, which is standard practice for Schedule 40 PVC pressure assemblies in both above-ground and in-slab configurations. Domestically manufactured, this fitting meets the dimensional standards expected for Schedule 40 PVC pressure fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style pressure fitting for use with Schedule 40 PVC pipe in 4-inch mainline and 2-inch branch configurations rated for cold-water pressure service.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the system completely before cutting into any existing line. Use the appropriate PVC primer and solvent-weld cement for the pipe schedule and application — do not skip the priming step on pressure-rated assemblies. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer's instructions before pressurizing the system.
