The SPACEPAK ESP4860JH4M is a 5-ton high velocity heat pump fan coil unit designed for residential and light commercial forced-air systems. It operates on a single-phase, 230-volt power supply and uses an electronically commutated motor (ECM) blower for efficient, variable-speed air delivery. The unit ships in a standard 230V configuration with an optional field conversion to 115V. Built-in features include an integrated control board, anti-frost control, a condensate float switch, and a condensate trap. Licensed HVAC technicians install this unit as the indoor air handler in a split heat pump system.
The ESP4860JH4M is rated for 4 to 5 tons and is suited for high velocity ducted systems where compact cabinet dimensions and slide-out blower access are priorities. Its field-adjustable motor staging allows airflow tuning without additional components. The unit accepts a 3/8-inch liquid line connection and a 7/8-inch suction fitting, making it compatible with standard split-system refrigerant line sets. It is appropriate for new construction and replacement installations in residential applications.
Designed as an OEM-style indoor fan coil unit for high velocity split heat pump systems rated at 4 to 5 tons with single-phase power supply.
Installation of this fan coil unit should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation instructions. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before servicing the unit or making any refrigerant line connections. Refrigerant handling requires EPA Section 608 certification. Verify condensate drain slope and trap depth meet local plumbing code requirements before startup.
