The SOUTHWIRE uf10/3w/grdmr is a UF-B rated, direct-burial underground feeder cable designed for supplying power through wet, damp, or underground environments without conduit. Built with solid 10 AWG copper conductors, this cable carries up to 30 amps at 600 volts and is rated for 90 degrees C operation. The PVC insulation and nylon jacket protect the conductors against moisture, soil contact, and physical stress encountered in direct-burial installations. Electricians use this cable for residential and light commercial circuits feeding outbuildings, landscape lighting circuits, pumps, and similar loads where underground routing is required.
This cable is suited for residential and light commercial direct-burial applications, including runs to detached garages, sheds, well pumps, outdoor receptacles, and exterior subpanels. It can be installed underground without conduit where local codes permit, or pulled through conduit when code requires protection. The 5000-foot reel format supports large-volume jobs and contractor inventory, reducing the need for multiple shorter runs or splices in the field.
Designed for use as a direct-burial underground feeder cable in NEC-compliant branch circuit and feeder installations requiring 10 AWG, 3-conductor with ground, UF-B type cable.
Installation must comply with NEC Article 340 governing underground feeder and branch-circuit cable. Licensed electricians should verify local burial depth requirements with the authority having jurisdiction before trenching, as minimum depth varies based on conduit use and circuit voltage. De-energize the circuit and lock out the panel before terminating conductors at any load or line side equipment. Avoid sharp bends or kinking when pulling from the reel, as damage to the jacket can compromise the direct-burial rating.
