The SOUTHWIRE T4M is a malleable iron, rigid threaded Type T conduit body designed for use in commercial and industrial conduit systems. It provides three-way inline access, which allows electricians to pull conductors, splice wiring, and change or correct conduit run direction at a single fitting. The malleable iron construction delivers high tensile strength and ductility while resisting corrosion and impact damage. Smooth, rounded integral bushings in the hubs protect conductor insulation during pull-through. The roomy interior maximizes available wiring space at the junction point. This fitting is sized at 1-1/4 inches and is UL listed.
The T4M is suited for use in rigid metal conduit installations in both residential and commercial electrical systems. Type T conduit bodies are commonly installed where a conduit run requires a mid-run access point for pulling or splicing conductors, or where a three-port junction is needed to branch or redirect the run. Licensed electricians install this fitting as part of a complete RMC or IMC system wherever NEC requirements call for accessible wiring points in the conduit path.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitment for 1-1/4 inch rigid threaded conduit systems. Also referenced as a replacement for Madison LTM-125.
Installation of conduit bodies is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize the circuit and verify with a meter before opening any conduit body or pulling conductors. Thread connections should be made wrench-tight with an appropriate pipe wrench or strap wrench to ensure a secure, weatherproof fit. The cover and gasket must be reinstalled and secured after conductor work is complete to maintain the integrity of the enclosure.
