The SOUTHWIRE RC350 is a 3.5-inch threaded rigid conduit coupling designed to join two sections of threaded rigid metal conduit or IMC conduit end to end. Built for electrical rough-in and raceway work, this coupling accepts standard threaded conduit ends and provides a secure mechanical and bonding connection between conduit runs. The threaded design is compatible with all standard threaded connectors, chase nipples, and fittings used in commercial and industrial conduit installations. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting as part of a complete rigid conduit system.
This coupling is used in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations wherever 3.5-inch rigid metal conduit or IMC conduit runs require a straight inline joint. It can also serve as a transition fitting when paired with appropriate threaded connectors to bond threaded conduit to electrical junction boxes or enclosures. The versatile threaded profile additionally supports conversion between conduit types, including flexible metal conduit and liquid-tight conduit systems, when used with the correct threaded transition connectors.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 3.5-inch threaded rigid metal conduit and IMC conduit systems using standard threaded connectors and fittings.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for rigid metal conduit and IMC systems. De-energize all circuits in the affected conduit run before beginning work. Thread the coupling fully onto both conduit ends by hand, then wrench-tighten to ensure a secure mechanical connection and electrical continuity through the raceway. Do not use thread sealants or compounds that are not rated for metallic conduit fittings, as they may compromise the bonding integrity of the assembly.
