The SOUTHWIRE P470 is a straight liquidtight connector designed to terminate flexible liquidtight conduit at enclosures, junction boxes, and electrical equipment. Made from gray nylon, this fitting provides a secure, moisture-resistant seal where flexible conduit meets a knockout entry. It accepts 3/8 inch liquidtight flexible conduit and is installed by licensed electricians during rough-in and finish electrical work on commercial and residential projects. The nylon construction resists corrosion in damp and wet locations, making it a practical choice for mechanical rooms, rooftop equipment connections, and similar environments.
This connector suits residential and light commercial electrical installations where 3/8 inch liquidtight flexible nonmetallic conduit (LFNC) is specified. Typical applications include connections to motors, HVAC equipment, compressors, and other machinery that require a flexible conduit run with liquidtight protection. The straight body style is used when the conduit enters the enclosure from a direct angle without requiring a bend at the termination point.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for use with 3/8 inch liquidtight flexible nonmetallic conduit in standard electrical enclosure knockout applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for liquidtight flexible conduit fittings. De-energize all circuits and lock out the panel before opening any enclosure. Insert the conduit fully into the connector body and tighten the compression nut by hand before snugging with pliers. Do not overtighten, as excessive torque can crack nylon fittings.
