The SOUTHWIRE N-100-CL is a close conduit nipple fabricated from hot-dip galvanized steel for use in rigid metal conduit and IMC conduit installations. A close nipple has minimal unthreaded length, allowing two threaded fittings to be joined with almost no gap between them. This makes it the right choice when a standard-length nipple would add unwanted spacing in a tight conduit run. The galvanized steel construction provides corrosion resistance in both interior and exterior applications. Licensed electricians and conduit installers use this fitting when extending or connecting threaded rigid or IMC conduit sections in commercial and industrial electrical systems.
The N-100-CL is sized at 1 inch trade size and is suited for use in standard rigid metal conduit and IMC conduit systems. It is a common component in panel feeder runs, junction box connections, and any conduit assembly where a close-coupled threaded connection is required. The UL listing confirms the fitting meets recognized safety and performance standards for electrical conduit systems in both new construction and retrofit work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 1 inch trade size threaded rigid metal conduit and IMC conduit systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code. De-energize all circuits in the affected conduit run before beginning work. Use a pipe wrench or conduit threading tool appropriate for 1 inch trade size fittings, and apply listed thread lubricant or anti-seize compound to ensure a tight, corrosion-resistant joint. Do not over-torque threaded connections, as this can damage the galvanized coating at the joint.
