The SOUTHWIRE MECR-754-B is a 1-1/2 inch rain-tight, insulated EMT compression box connector designed for use in electrical conduit installations. This steel compression-style fitting creates a secure, weather-resistant connection between EMT conduit and an electrical enclosure or junction box. The insulated throat protects conductor insulation from abrasion at the point of entry. Electricians use this connector in commercial and residential wiring applications where moisture exposure or wet-location ratings are required.
This connector is suited for outdoor service entrances, rooftop equipment connections, exterior panel installations, and other wet or damp locations where a rain-tight EMT termination is needed. The compression design eliminates the need for locknuts in many applications and provides a consistent, low-profile fit against box knockouts. It is appropriate for use wherever the NEC requires rain-tight fittings for exposed EMT runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit connector for 1-1/2 inch EMT conduit terminations at electrical enclosures, junction boxes, and panel boxes requiring rain-tight fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for wet and damp locations. De-energize all circuits in the enclosure before opening the box or inserting conduit. Use the appropriate compression tool or wrench to tighten the compression nut to a firm, weather-resistant seat without over-torquing the fitting body. Verify the knockout size matches the 1-1/2 inch trade size before installation.
