The SOUTHWIRE MCG50A350 is a 1/2-inch trade-size steel flexible cord connector designed to provide strain relief and a secure termination for flexible cord and cable entries into electrical enclosures, boxes, and conduit fittings. Built for a cable range of 0.25 to 0.35 inches, this connector grips the cord to prevent pullout and seals the entry point against moisture and contaminants. The color-coded grommet simplifies identification on the job and enhances the seal at the cable jacket. UL listed for reliable performance in commercial and industrial electrical installations.
This cord connector is suited for residential and commercial electrical work where flexible cord must be secured at a panel, junction box, or enclosure knockout. Electricians use these fittings when terminating power cords, appliance whips, or flexible conduit assemblies at a 1/2-inch knockout opening. The 0.25- to 0.35-inch cable range accommodates a variety of flexible cord sizes commonly found in light commercial and residential applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit cord connector for 1/2-inch knockout openings in electrical enclosures, junction boxes, and panel boards accepting flexible cord with an outer diameter between 0.25 and 0.35 inches.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for cord and cable terminations. De-energize the enclosure and verify the absence of voltage before inserting or tightening any cord connector. Thread the connector body into the knockout and tighten the locknut securely, then insert the cord through the grommet and tighten the connector body to achieve proper strain relief. Do not overtighten the clamping body in a way that damages the cord jacket or insulation.
