The SOUTHWIRE MCBGI-350 is a 3.5-inch insulated malleable iron metallic grounding bushing designed for conduit service terminations. It pairs with an aluminum lay-in grounding lug to properly ground conduit runs in electrical installations. The thermoplastic throat liner is rated to 105 degrees C, protecting wire insulation from abrasion at the conduit entry point. Licensed electricians install this bushing during service entrance and branch circuit work where a reliable, code-compliant grounding path is required. UL listed construction meets standard requirements for metallic grounding hardware.
This bushing is suited for residential and commercial conduit installations where copper or aluminum bare ground conductors are used. It is commonly installed at panelboards, service entrances, and junction points where conduit terminates into an enclosure. The insulated throat design makes it appropriate for applications where protecting conductor insulation at the bushing entry is a code or spec requirement. It is available in trade sizes from 0.5 inches through 6 inches, making MCBGI-350 part of a complete grounding bushing product line.
Designed for use with copper or aluminum bare ground connectors and an accompanying aluminum lay-in grounding lug. Suitable for conduit service applications where insulated metallic grounding bushings are specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize the circuit and lock out the service before beginning conduit termination work. Thread the bushing onto the conduit end and secure the grounding lug before pulling conductors. Avoid forcing conductors past the throat liner in a way that could compromise the insulating sleeve.
