The SOUTHWIRE LRB5 is a steel reducing bushing designed to adapt a larger conduit knockout or fitting opening down to a smaller conduit trade size. This type of fitting is used to fill and seal the gap when a conduit of smaller diameter is routed through a knockout sized for a larger conduit, maintaining a secure mechanical connection in the raceway system. It is a standard component in electrical conduit installations and is handled by licensed electricians and electrical contractors on both commercial and residential projects.
The LRB5 bushing transitions from a 1-1/4 inch trade size opening down to a 1/2 inch trade size. It is used in panel enclosures, junction boxes, conduit bodies, and other electrical enclosures where knockouts have been sized for a larger conduit than the one being installed. This fitting is appropriate for use in standard dry, damp, or indoor electrical raceway installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit reducing bushing for electrical enclosures, panel boxes, and conduit fittings with 1-1/4 inch knockouts requiring a 1/2 inch conduit entry.
Installation of conduit fittings should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize all circuits in the enclosure before beginning work. The bushing is typically hand-threaded or pressed into the knockout opening and should be seated fully and securely before routing conduit. Do not overtighten threaded bushings to avoid stripping the fitting or damaging the enclosure wall.
