The SOUTHWIRE LRB2 is a steel reducing bushing designed to adapt conduit knockouts and fittings from a 3/4-inch opening to a 1/2-inch trade size. Reducing bushings serve a fundamental role in electrical rough-in work, allowing electricians to use a single knockout size to accept smaller conduit, connectors, or fittings without cutting new holes or replacing enclosures. The LRB2 is constructed from steel for durability in standard electrical enclosure applications. Its threaded design seats securely in the larger knockout, providing a clean, code-compliant transition between trade sizes commonly encountered in panel, junction box, and enclosure work.
This reducing bushing is suited for use in residential and light commercial electrical installations where conduit fittings or connectors must be stepped down from 3/4 inch to 1/2 inch. Typical applications include load centers, junction boxes, pull boxes, and metallic enclosures where knockout sizes do not match the installed conduit or fitting size. The LRB2 is a standard trade-stock item carried by electricians for day-to-day service and installation work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard trade fitting compatible with 3/4-inch threaded knockouts on metallic electrical enclosures, junction boxes, and panels requiring a 1/2-inch trade-size opening.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize the enclosure and verify absence of voltage before opening any panel or box. Thread the bushing into the existing 3/4-inch knockout by hand, then tighten with an appropriate wrench or bushing driver to ensure a secure, flush fit. Do not overtighten to avoid stripping threads in the enclosure wall.
