The SOUTHWIRE LQA1050 is a straight liquid-tight box connector made from zinc, designed to secure liquid-tight flexible metal conduit (LFMC) to an electrical enclosure or box. These connectors provide a watertight seal at the box entry point, protecting conductors from moisture, oils, and contaminants. Sold in a 3-piece pack, the LQA1050 fits 1/2 inch trade size conduit and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor electrical installations where moisture resistance is required. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this fitting.
The LQA1050 is used in commercial, industrial, and residential electrical applications wherever liquid-tight flexible conduit terminates at a junction box, disconnect, panel, or other electrical enclosure. The straight configuration makes it well suited for direct-entry installations where the conduit runs perpendicular to the enclosure knockout. Typical applications include HVAC equipment connections, motor terminations, and outdoor panel wiring where conduit flexibility and moisture protection are both required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 1/2 inch trade size liquid-tight flexible metal conduit (LFMC) terminations at electrical enclosures.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 350 governing liquid-tight flexible metal conduit. De-energize the circuit and verify the absence of voltage before making any connections at the enclosure. Use the appropriate knockout punch or existing 1/2 inch knockout in the enclosure, and tighten the locknut securely to maintain the liquid-tight seal. Do not overtighten to the point of damaging the conduit jacket or connector body.
