The SOUTHWIRE LNS150G is a steel bonding locknut designed to establish a reliable electrical bond between metal conduit and enclosures, panels, or junction boxes. Sized at 1.5 inches, it threads onto the end of a conduit connector or nipple and tightens against the wall of the enclosure to maintain low-impedance grounding continuity throughout the conduit system. Electricians use bonding locknuts in place of standard locknuts wherever a code-compliant bonding connection is required. The steel construction provides the mechanical strength and conductivity needed to meet grounding and bonding requirements in commercial and residential electrical installations.
The LNS150G is suited for use in service entrance installations, panel terminations, and conduit runs where the National Electrical Code requires a bonding means at concentric or eccentric knockouts. It is installed by licensed electricians on rigid metal conduit, intermediate metal conduit, and threaded rigid nonmetallic conduit fittings at 1.5-inch trade size terminations.
Designed as an OEM-style bonding locknut for use with 1.5-inch trade size rigid metal conduit, intermediate metal conduit, and compatible threaded conduit fittings at panel and enclosure terminations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits and verify absence of voltage before working inside any enclosure or panel. Thread the locknut onto the conduit fitting and tighten firmly against the enclosure wall to ensure solid metal-to-metal contact; a locknut wrench or wide-blade screwdriver and hammer are commonly used for final tightening. Do not substitute a standard locknut for a bonding locknut at locations where NEC bonding requirements apply.
