The SOUTHWIRE LBLA250 is an LB-type rigid conduit body supplied with a cover and gasket, designed for use in electrical raceway systems where a 90-degree change of direction is required. Constructed from aluminum, this conduit body provides a durable, corrosion-resistant enclosure suitable for pulling wire and making directional transitions in conduit runs. At 2-1/2 inches, it accommodates larger conductor fills common in commercial and industrial distribution systems. The included cover and gasket provide a secure closure that helps protect conductors and terminations at the access point. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this fitting.
The LBLA250 is used in rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit installations where a back-entry, bottom-exit conduit body is required. It suits commercial, industrial, and heavy residential electrical systems where a 2-1/2-inch conduit run changes direction vertically or horizontally. The fitting is appropriate for both exposed and concealed raceway applications and is commonly installed at pull points on long conduit runs to ease conductor installation. Compatible equivalent references include the Madison LBLA-250 and the Topaz LB7CG.
Compatible with 2-1/2-inch rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit systems. Cross-referenced as a direct replacement for the Madison LBLA-250 and the Topaz LB7CG conduit body.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit and verify the absence of voltage before opening or working near any existing conduit body. Secure the conduit body using properly rated conduit fittings and ensure the cover gasket is seated correctly before closing to maintain the integrity of the enclosure. Do not exceed the conduit body's fill capacity as determined by NEC conductor fill tables.
