The SOUTHWIRE LBLA125CB is a 1-1/4 inch LB-type combination conduit body designed for use with both EMT and threaded rigid metal conduit. It is constructed from lightweight aluminum that provides natural corrosion resistance without additional coatings. The body features a hub on one end and one on the back side, allowing technicians to change or correct the direction of a conduit run and gain access for wire pulling or splicing. A domed cover increases interior wiring space, and an integrated gasket seals the assembly for wet-location service. Licensed electricians install this fitting in commercial and residential wiring systems where conduit routing must change direction.
This conduit body is suited for exposed conduit installations in both indoor and outdoor environments where moisture exposure is a concern. The LB configuration is commonly used at building entry points, at transitions from underground runs, and wherever a conduit run requires a back-outlet direction change. The smooth, rounded integral bushings in the hubs protect conductor insulation during pull-through. The fitting is rated for wet locations under NEMA FB 1 and must be used with threaded rigid metal conduit when installed in that application.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 1-1/4 inch EMT and threaded rigid metal conduit systems. Per the product specification, use with threaded rigid metal conduit only when the rigid conduit application applies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit and verify with a meter before opening any conduit body for splicing or wire pulling. Ensure the cover gasket is properly seated before securing the cover to maintain the wet-location rating. Do not over-torque the cover screws, as aluminum threads can strip under excessive force.
