The SOUTHWIRE ET3 is a 1-inch aluminum set screw connector designed for use with electrical metallic tubing (EMT) conduit systems. This fitting creates a secure mechanical connection between EMT conduit and an electrical enclosure, junction box, or panel. The aluminum body provides corrosion resistance in typical indoor and sheltered outdoor applications. Electricians use this connector during rough-in and service work wherever EMT conduit terminates at a box or enclosure. The set screw design allows fast, tool-accessible tightening without the need for compression tooling, making it a practical choice for production wiring work.
The ET3 is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations where 1-inch EMT conduit is specified. Common applications include feeder runs, branch circuit wiring, and equipment connections in dry or damp locations. The connector is installed at conduit termination points on load centers, junction boxes, and pull boxes. It is typically installed by licensed electricians as part of raceway systems governed by NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code).
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for use with 1-inch EMT conduit in standard electrical raceway installations. Also referenced with part number ET100 in supplier documentation.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize all circuits and verify absence of voltage before beginning conduit termination work. Insert the EMT conduit into the connector body and tighten the set screw firmly with the appropriate hex key or nut driver — do not overtighten to the point of deforming the conduit wall. All raceway installations must comply with NFPA 70 (NEC) and applicable local codes.
