The SOUTHWIRE CPB150 is a 1-1/2 inch plastic conduit bushing designed to protect wire and cable insulation at the end of conduit runs. It fits over the threaded end of conduit to provide a smooth, rounded edge that prevents abrasion and damage to conductors as they are pulled through. This type of bushing is a standard component in electrical rough-in work and is installed by licensed electricians on both commercial and residential projects.
The CPB150 is suited for use wherever conduit terminates at a panel, junction box, or equipment enclosure and a protective throat is needed between the conduit end and the conductors passing through it. Its plastic construction makes it lightweight and resistant to corrosion, which is an advantage in damp or corrosive environments where metal bushings may degrade over time.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-stock fitting for 1-1/2 inch conduit terminations in residential and commercial electrical installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits before working at the panel or enclosure where the bushing will be installed. The bushing is threaded or pressed onto the conduit end prior to pulling wire; ensure the conduit end is reamed clean of burrs before seating the bushing to avoid cracking the plastic. Do not overtighten or use metal tools that could deform the bushing body.
