The SOUTHWIRE/COLEMAN CABLE 11579058 is a 500-foot coil of 14 AWG solid copper THHN building wire rated for 600 volts and 90 degrees C. The nylon jacket over the thermoplastic insulation provides resistance to abrasion, moisture, and common job-site chemicals. This wire is a standard pull for branch circuit wiring in residential and light commercial construction. Electricians use it for general-purpose circuits where a solid conductor is specified, including outlets, lighting, and control runs that fall within the ampacity limits of 14 AWG solid copper conductors.
This wire is suited for dry and damp locations in conduit, cable trays, or raceways as permitted under THHN listing. The 500-foot length is a common pull quantity for residential new construction and renovation work, reducing the need for mid-run splices on longer home-run circuits. It is appropriate for use in residential panels, junction boxes, and device rough-in wherever solid 14 AWG copper is called out on the plans or required by the installing electrician.
Designed as a standard THHN solid building wire for use in conduit, raceways, and cable trays in residential and light commercial electrical installations where 14 AWG solid copper conductors are required.
Installation must comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local amendments. De-energize and lock out the panel before terminating conductors. Solid conductors must be terminated at devices and lugs rated for solid wire. Verify that conduit fill calculations allow for the conductor count being pulled before installation begins.
