The SOUTHWIRE 920410608 is an RG6 coaxial cable rated at 75 ohms impedance, built on an 18 AWG steel conductor with a black PVC jacket. This cable is designed for signal distribution applications including cable television, satellite, and low-voltage data runs in residential and commercial installations. The outer diameter measures 0.3 inches, and the dual-layer shielding — a combination of braid and foil — provides 40 percent braid coverage and 60 percent foil coverage for reliable signal integrity. The PVC jacket is sun-resistant, making it suitable for exposed or partially outdoor routing where UV degradation is a concern.
This cable is sold in a 1,000-foot coil and is cut to length in 1-foot increments, with a minimum cut length of 250 feet per order. It is well suited for rough-in wiring in new construction, retrofit cable or satellite installations, and structured wiring closet distribution in residential or light commercial projects. Low-voltage technicians, electricians, and systems integrators typically specify this cable for backbone coaxial runs where consistent impedance and shielding are required throughout the installation.
Designed for use in coaxial signal distribution systems requiring 75 ohm RG6 cable, including cable television, satellite, and structured wiring applications meeting NEC Article 800 and NEC Article 725 requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified low-voltage technician in accordance with NEC Article 800 for communications wiring and NEC Article 725 for Class 2 and Class 3 circuits where applicable. De-energize all associated signal equipment before making terminations. Use proper RG6-rated compression or crimp connectors and the appropriate stripping and crimping tools to maintain shielding continuity at every termination point. Avoid sharp bends that exceed the cable minimum bend radius, as this can deform the shielding and degrade signal performance.
