The SOUTHWIRE 72C13-UPC is a 1-gang square raised device cover ring designed for use with 4-11/16 inch by 4-11/16 inch square electrical boxes. It provides a flush, code-ready mounting surface for switches, receptacles, and other standard wiring devices. The cover features angled slots that compensate for up to 12 degrees of box misalignment on upright framing members, reducing rework time on installations where boxes are not perfectly plumb. It is UL listed and RoHS compliant. Electricians use this ring in residential and light commercial rough-in work where square boxes are the standard enclosure type.
This device ring is suited for use across residential, commercial, and light industrial wiring applications. It mounts directly to 4-11/16 inch square outlet boxes and accepts standard 1-gang wiring devices including duplex receptacles, single-pole switches, and similar devices. The misalignment compensation slots make it particularly useful in wood-frame construction where framing tolerances vary. It is sold individually and is a common component in panel and device rough-in stages of electrical installation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit device ring for 4-11/16 inch square electrical boxes used in residential and commercial wiring installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize the circuit and verify voltage absence with a meter before securing any wiring devices to this ring. The ring mounts to the square box using the provided screw holes, and standard NEC box-fill calculations should be confirmed before device installation. Do not overtighten mounting screws, as this can distort the cover and cause device misalignment.
