The SOUTHWIRE 63946822 is a 14 AWG NM-B solid copper building wire rated for 15 amps and 600 volts, supplied in a 50-foot length. The white PVC outer jacket meets NM-B cable standards for interior residential wiring applications. Three conductors run through the jacket, each insulated with PVC rated to a maximum operating temperature of 194 degrees F. Electricians use this wire for branch circuit rough-in work in new construction and remodel projects where nonmetallic sheathed cable is code-permitted. Solid core construction makes it straightforward to terminate in receptacles, switches, and panels.
This wire is intended for dry and damp interior locations in residential and light commercial construction. Typical applications include 15-amp branch circuits feeding outlets, lighting, and small appliance loads. The 50-foot coil suits room-level rough-in runs without the bulk of a full spool. NM-B cable is installed by licensed electricians in jurisdictions where the National Electrical Code permits nonmetallic sheathed cable, generally in wood-frame structures.
Designed for use as NM-B nonmetallic sheathed cable in residential and light commercial interior branch circuit wiring where the National Electrical Code permits this cable type.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. Always de-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage before connecting or terminating wire. NM-B cable must be protected from physical damage where exposed and is not rated for wet locations, direct burial, or conduit fill in damp areas. Secure and support the cable at intervals required by the NEC.
