The SOUTHWIRE 52C13-UPC is a 1-gang square raised device ring designed for use with 4 inch by 4 inch square electrical boxes. It provides a raised mounting surface for switches, receptacles, and other wiring devices in residential and commercial electrical installations. The cover features angled slots that compensate for up to 0.5 inches of box misalignment on upright framing members, making it practical in rough-in conditions where box placement is not perfectly flush with the finished wall surface. This device ring is UL listed and RoHS compliant, meeting standard electrical code requirements. Licensed electricians install this fitting as part of the box and device assembly process.
This device ring is suited for standard electrical rough-in and finish work in both residential and light commercial applications. It mounts to 4 inch by 4 inch square boxes and accepts a single wiring device such as a switch or duplex receptacle. The misalignment compensation built into the angled slots is especially useful on wood-frame construction where stud faces are not always perfectly plumb. Electricians commonly use this ring to adapt a square box to a single-gang device configuration in walls and partitions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitment for use with 4 inch by 4 inch square electrical outlet boxes requiring a single-gang raised device cover.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize the circuit at the breaker panel and verify the absence of voltage before working on any box or device assembly. Secure the ring to the square box using appropriate machine screws and ensure the device ring sits flush before mounting the wiring device. Work must comply with applicable NEC requirements for the installation environment.
