The SOUTHWIRE 4300c100 is a flexible metal conduit (FMC) manufactured from aluminum alloy, supplied in a 100-foot coil. Rated for 3/8-inch trade size, it features an inner diameter range of 0.374 to 0.392 inches and an outer diameter range of 0.559 to 0.609 inches. The interlocked aluminum construction provides a lightweight, corrosion-resistant raceway for pulling and protecting electrical conductors in tight or irregular routing paths. Electricians use this conduit where rigid raceway systems are impractical, including final connections to equipment, motors, luminaires, and HVAC components.
This flexible conduit is suited for both residential and light commercial electrical installations. Common applications include the last few feet of a circuit run connecting to a motor, appliance, or equipment enclosure where vibration isolation or directional flexibility is required. The 100-foot coil length provides enough material for multiple connections on a single job, reducing the number of coil changes. It is appropriate for dry and damp locations where the installation complies with applicable NEC requirements for flexible metal conduit.
Designed as a standard 3/8-inch trade-size flexible metal conduit for use with compatible FMC fittings and connectors rated for aluminum flexible conduit in residential and light commercial electrical systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 348 governing flexible metal conduit. De-energize all circuits at the panel before making any conduit or wiring connections. Use FMC-rated connectors sized for 3/8-inch trade conduit to secure terminations at enclosures and equipment knockouts. Avoid over-bending beyond the minimum bend radius and do not use this conduit as a ground conductor unless a separate equipment grounding conductor is installed or local code permits the conduit itself as an EGC for the applicable run length.
