The SOUTHWIRE 411020502 is a 16 AWG stranded machine tool wire designed for internal wiring of control panels, machine tools, and industrial equipment. Built with polyvinylchloride (PVC) insulation, this wire features 26 strands for flexibility in tight routing applications. It carries a maximum operating temperature of 221 degrees F and a minimum operating temperature of -4 degrees F. The outside diameter measures 0.12 inches. At 500 feet per spool, it gives electricians and panel builders enough wire for multiple runs or a full installation project without reordering mid-job.
This wire is suited for use inside machine tool enclosures, industrial control panels, and automated equipment where flexibility and resistance to harsh environments are required. Its PVC insulation provides resistance to acids, moisture, and oil — conditions commonly found in manufacturing and production environments. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians are the typical installers for this wire type in both new construction and retrofit panel work.
Designed as a standard 16 AWG machine tool wire replacement or new-install wire suitable for UL 1063 and CSA 22.2 No. 210 compliant control panel and machine tool wiring applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any applicable local codes. De-energize all equipment and lock out or tag out power sources before routing or terminating wire. Verify conduit fill percentages comply with NEC requirements before pulling wire. Do not exceed the rated maximum operating temperature of 221 degrees F or route through environments outside the stated temperature range.
