The SOUTHWIRE 411010506 is an 18 AWG stranded machine tool wire rated for use in demanding industrial and commercial wiring applications. The conductor is built with 16 strands and insulated with polyvinylchloride (PVC), giving it a 0.108-inch outside diameter. It handles a maximum operating temperature of 221 degrees F and a minimum of -4 degrees F, making it suitable for environments that cycle through temperature extremes. This 500-foot spool is sized for job-site or shop use and is installed by licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians working on machine tool and control wiring systems.
This wire is designed for internal wiring of machine tools, control panels, and related electrical equipment. Its resistance to acids, moisture, and oil makes it appropriate for industrial environments where exposure to fluids and contaminants is routine. The blue jacket allows for straightforward color-coding in multi-conductor control wiring layouts. It meets CSA 22.2 No. 210 and UL 1063 standards, as well as UL Subject 758, which are common requirements for machine tool and appliance wiring applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation wire for machine tool control panels and internal equipment wiring where UL 1063 or CSA 22.2 No. 210 listed 18 AWG PVC-insulated wire is specified.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits and lock out or tag out equipment before routing or terminating wire. Do not exceed the wire's rated operating temperature or expose it to chemicals outside its listed resistance profile. Follow machine tool manufacturer wiring diagrams for proper routing and termination practices.
