The SOUTHWIRE 28827421 is a 14/2 with ground NM-B (nonmetallic-sheathed) cable rated for 600 volts and suitable for use in normally dry locations at temperatures not to exceed 90 degrees C, with ampacity limited to the 60 degrees C conductor rating per NEC requirements. This cable is sold per foot, giving contractors and electricians the flexibility to purchase exactly the length needed for a job. The nonmetallic sheathing is designed for both exposed and concealed installations, making it a standard choice for residential electrical rough-in work.
This NM-B cable is primarily used in residential wiring applications as branch circuit wiring for outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and general electrical loads. It may also be run through air voids in masonry block or tile walls, provided those walls are not classified as wet or damp locations. Licensed electricians and residential electrical contractors are the primary installers of this product.
Designed as a standard NM-B residential branch circuit cable suitable for use in wood-frame residential construction where NEC permits nonmetallic-sheathed cable installations.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. Always de-energize the circuit at the panel and verify with a voltage tester before making any connections. NM-B cable must not be installed in wet or damp locations, embedded in concrete, or used in locations where it would be subject to physical damage unless properly protected. Secure and support the cable at intervals required by the NEC.
