The SOUTHWIRE 252 is a concrete tight conduit coupling designed for use with IMC and rigid metal conduit in electrical raceway installations. Built from steel with a zinc plated finish, this coupling provides a secure, weatherproof connection point between conduit sections in environments where moisture, concrete encasement, or direct burial exposure is a concern. The 252 measures 1.43 inches in outer diameter and 1.82 inches in length, making it a standard fit for 3/4 inch trade size conduit runs. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting as part of a complete conduit system in both new construction and retrofit applications.
This coupling is suited for 3/4 inch IMC and rigid metal conduit systems in commercial, industrial, and residential electrical installations where conduit may pass through or be embedded in concrete. The concrete tight design helps prevent the ingress of concrete slurry during poured-in-place construction, protecting the raceway integrity. It is commonly specified on projects requiring NEC-compliant metallic conduit systems where mechanical protection and a secure coupling method are required.
Designed for use with 3/4 inch IMC and rigid metal conduit systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits in the work area before beginning conduit assembly. Hand-tighten the coupling onto the conduit threads, then use a conduit wrench to achieve a secure, wrench-tight connection. Do not over-torque threaded fittings, as this may damage threads or compromise the concrete tight seal.
