The SOUTHWIRE 22980701 is a THHN/THWN-rated building wire designed for general-purpose electrical wiring in commercial and residential construction. It features a 10 AWG stranded copper conductor with 19 individual strands, rated at 30 amps and 600 volts. The wire is insulated with thermoplastic material and jacketed in nylon, with a brown outer color for circuit identification. Each spool contains 500 feet of wire. Licensed electricians install this wire in conduit runs, panel feeders, branch circuits, and related applications where THHN or THWN conductor specification is required by code or design.
This wire is suited for both dry and wet locations, as the THWN rating qualifies it for conduit installations exposed to moisture. The THHN rating covers dry and damp environments. Typical applications include branch circuit wiring in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and residential construction. The brown jacket color is commonly used to identify specific phase or circuit legs in multi-wire installations. A single 500-foot spool supports a wide range of conduit pull lengths on standard job sites.
Designed for use in conduit systems where THHN or THWN conductors are specified per NEC requirements for branch circuits and feeders rated at 600 volts or less.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before terminating or splicing this wire. Pull wire through conduit using appropriate wire-pulling lubricant to avoid jacket damage on longer or complex runs. Do not exceed the 30-amp ampacity rating or the 194 degrees F maximum operating temperature for the installed environment.
