The SOUTHWIRE 22978101 is a THHN/THWN dual-rated building wire designed for use in conduit and raceway installations across residential, commercial, and light industrial applications. This 10 AWG stranded copper conductor is rated for 30 amps at 600 volts and features a thermoplastic insulation layer with a nylon outer jacket. The yellow jacket color aids in circuit identification during installation and inspection. At 500 feet per spool, this wire is well suited for branch circuit runs, feeder wiring, and general-purpose electrical distribution work where a reliable, code-compliant conductor is required.
This wire is used in conduit systems where both dry and wet location ratings are required. The THHN rating covers dry and damp locations while the THWN rating extends suitability to wet environments, making it appropriate for installations running through areas exposed to moisture. Electricians use this wire for branch circuits in panel feeders, motor connections, and general building wiring in new construction and retrofit projects. The 19-strand construction improves flexibility compared to solid core wire, making it easier to pull through conduit and terminate at devices.
Designed for use in conduit, raceway, and cable tray systems where THHN or THWN-rated conductors are specified. Compatible with standard conduit fittings and terminations sized for 10 AWG wire.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit panel before making any terminations. Use appropriate wire pulling lubricant when routing through conduit to avoid jacket damage. Do not exceed the 30-amp ampacity or the 194 degrees F temperature rating of this conductor.
