The SOUTHWIRE/COLEMAN CABLE 22974083 is a 50-foot coil of 10 AWG stranded copper THHN building wire rated at 600 volts and 90 degrees C. The nylon jacket over the PVC insulation gives this wire its THHN designation and provides resistance to abrasion, moisture, and common solvents encountered in commercial and residential rough-in work. Wound on a plastic spool for clean payoff, this white-jacketed conductor is sized for branch circuits, feeder runs, and panel wiring where a 10 AWG conductor is specified. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors pull this wire through conduit on new construction and retrofit projects.
This wire is suited for dry and damp locations in residential and commercial electrical systems. Common applications include 30-amp branch circuits, sub-panel feeders, HVAC equipment branch circuits, and general-purpose conduit runs. The white jacket color is used for neutral identification in multi-wire branch circuits per standard color-coding practice. The 50-foot spool length is practical for single-circuit rough-ins and service calls where a full coil is not required.
Designed for use in conduit systems as an OEM-style THHN building wire suitable for standard residential and commercial electrical branch circuit and feeder applications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before making any terminations. THHN wire is rated for conduit installation and should not be used as a direct-burial or open-air service entrance conductor without additional protection. Use listed connectors and termination hardware rated for the conductor size and voltage.
