The SOUTHWIRE 22973257 is a 500-foot roll of 10 AWG stranded THHN building wire in black, rated for 600 volts and 90 degrees C. It is constructed with stranded copper conductors, a flame-retardant PVC insulation layer, and a nylon outer jacket. This wire is designed for general-purpose power distribution, lighting circuits, and control wiring in commercial and residential construction. Electricians pull this wire through conduit and raceways where a reliable, code-compliant conductor is required. The nylon jacket resists oil, gasoline, chemicals, and abrasion, making it suitable for demanding installation environments.
This wire is used in branch circuit wiring, feeder runs, and control applications in both residential and commercial buildings. It is well suited for installation in EMT, rigid conduit, PVC conduit, and enclosed raceways. The 10 AWG size is commonly used for 30-amp circuits including dryer outlets, water heaters, and HVAC equipment feeds. The black jacket color supports standard color-coding conventions for ungrounded conductors in single-phase and three-phase systems.
Designed for use in conduit and raceway systems as a general-purpose THHN building wire for power, lighting, and control wiring applications in residential and commercial construction.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. Disconnect and lock out power at the panel before terminating or splicing conductors. Use appropriate wire pulling lubricant when installing in conduit to avoid jacket damage. Do not exceed the ampacity ratings specified in NEC Table 310.15 for the conductor size and installation method used.
