The SOUTHWIRE 22969001 is a THHN/THWN-rated building wire designed for use in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations. This 12 AWG stranded copper wire is rated for 20 amps at 600 volts and comes in a 500-foot spool. The conductor is made up of 19 strands of copper for flexibility during installation. A thermoplastic insulation layer is covered by a nylon jacket, giving the wire resistance to abrasion, heat, moisture, oil, and gasoline. The yellow jacket color provides quick visual identification in conduit and panel applications. This wire is pulled by licensed electricians and electrical contractors working to NEC standards.
This wire is suited for use in conduit runs in both wet and dry locations. The THWN rating qualifies it for wet environments, while the THHN rating covers dry and damp locations. It is a standard choice for branch circuit wiring in residential panels, commercial buildouts, and light industrial applications. The 500-foot spool length supports larger pulls without mid-run splices. The stranded construction makes it easier to route through conduit bends compared to solid wire of the same gauge.
Designed for use in conduit systems in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations where THHN or THWN-rated conductors are specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating or splicing this wire. Use appropriate conduit fill calculations per NEC Chapter 9 to avoid overfilling conduit runs. Do not exceed the wire's rated voltage or temperature limits during installation or operation.
