The SOUTHWIRE 22962501 is a THHN/THWN-rated building wire designed for general-purpose electrical wiring in commercial and residential construction. It features a 14 AWG stranded copper conductor with 19 individual strands, rated for 15 amps at up to 600 volts. The brown thermoplastic insulation is covered with a nylon jacket, giving this wire its dual THHN/THWN listing for both dry and wet location use. Each spool contains 500 feet of wire. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this wire in conduit runs, panel feeders, branch circuits, and fixture wiring applications where code-compliant, listed wire is required.
This wire is suited for branch circuit wiring in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. It is commonly pulled through EMT, rigid metal, or PVC conduit to supply outlets, lighting circuits, and equipment loads. The 500-foot spool length is practical for larger rough-in jobs or repetitive short runs. Its brown jacket color supports standard color-coding practices for phase identification in multi-wire branch circuits and panel installations.
Designed as a standard THHN/THWN replacement or new-installation wire for 14 AWG branch circuit applications where a UL Listed, 600-volt rated stranded copper conductor is specified.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit at the panel before making any connections. This wire is rated for use in conduit only and should not be used as open wiring or in direct-burial applications without additional listed protection. Verify conduit fill calculations per NEC Chapter 9 before pulling multiple conductors.
